This story came about this way. When we were kids growing up around the North Shore, a friend of mine was a real tomboy. She was the best tree climber and beat the gang of boys who used to hassle us. She decided that if she got to the top of the tree and then broke the top off, then the boys couldn't possible beat her as the top was gone!!
